Yanni and I wanted to give an update and a huge thank you to
everyone who attended, donated, or supported us for our 1st annual
PIBD (Pediatric Inflammatory Brain Disorders) Fundraiser in April
17th. Thanks to you, we raised nearly $25,000!! It was a huge success.
Thank you to Drew Schlosberg for hosting a live podcast from Spotlight
on the Community and being our emcee. (Links Here
and Here)
Yanni hosted our live auction and boy was it live! A performance by
our very own Bella Cloud, and great dinner conversation.
The night was filled with such community, compassion, liveliness,
and a better understanding of this very serious medical condition. Dr.
Jong Rho and Dr. Jennifer Yang from Rady Children's Hospital gave
excellent speeches that only made it more clear just how important
getting treatment for PIBD is and built excitement for Rady Children's
efforts.
We had much support from the Rady Children's Hospital Foundation
along the way and our staff served delicious food and wine and we’re
already looking forward to next year. The goal of the PIBD Fundraiser
was to obtain funds for a nurse practitioner/care coordinator for the
program which we are now well on the way to getting and to spread
awareness about these debilitating illnesses that fall under the
umbrella of PIBD such as PANS, PANDAS and Autoimmune Encephalitis
Check out the photos taken by Erin Tanner and special thank you to
the people who donated their time (Maureen & Reed Roadman and
Vanda & Martin Wilshire). Other special thank you's go out to our
local community who donated for our event and auction: Cloudcast
Media, Xavier & Meredith Nady, Alicia Gwynn, Fitness Quest 10,
Raoul Martinez, The San Diego Zoo & Safari Park, Whole Family
Wellness Center, Mia Marie Winery, Fallbrook Winery, Nutmeg Bakery,
Stem Floral, John Parker from The Estates Group and David Sheline from
American Wines & Spirits.
The night would not have been possible without our wonderful staff.
If you didn’t get the chance to attend and would still like to
donate to this very worthy cause for a nurse practitioner/care
coordinator for the PIBD Program at Rady Children's Hospital (Link
Here) . Our hearts are full with gratitude to you all for your
support.
